Hilltop Neighbordhood House 

Hilltop Neighborhood House empowers the community and strengthens families by providing a place to learn, grow and belong.  Hilltop provides tuition assistance for child care, assists with food insecurities, provides child care and kindergarten readiness, and provides children with skills using programming like their Children’s Community Garden.  I donate food and clothing to Hilltop, have provided lunchboxes through outside donors, and have organized and participate in school wide donations and volunteering through Valparaiso High School.

Our initiatives are focused on strengthening families and do whatever it takes to see that every child has great opportunities to reach their full potential leading to a fulfilling adult life.  With this mission implanted deeply in our convictions, Our Greater Good has found or developed programs to come along side our schools and families to accomplish these goals."

I first had met the Tullis family when I had the pleasure of having their daughter Rachel in class in 2014.  They are a wonderful family who have given so much back to our community.  I have had the pleasure of participating in their Chef’s Around the World for the last few years.  

Porter County Substance Abuse Council/HUB Coalition 

The Porter County Substance Abuse Council’s goal is to reduce the incidence of substance abuse in Porter County.  The Porter County Substance Abuse Council’s purpose is to formulate and implement a county wide comprehensive plan and to advocate legislative concerns both locally and statewide as it relates to the goal and vision of the Council.  The mission of the Porter County Substance Abuse Council mission is to reduce youth and adult substance abuse by assessing for, promoting through, and educating about effective community-based programs
